Wye and the surrounding area
Despite Wye's rural location it is easily accessible from London and ideally situated close to the M20 and Ashford International station. Its' proximity to the ferry port at Dover and the Euro tunnel terminal at Folkestone make it the perfect stop-off en route to or from the continent.
Locally, there is plenty in the area to keep you entertained. Work up an appetite exploring the 250 acre Wye National Nature Reserve or ancient North Down's Way on two legs, four legs or two wheels. Views over Romney Marsh and the Weald of Kent are spectacular and look out for the aptly named Devil's Kneading Trough and Wye's famous chalk Crown.
For ardent foodies, a visit to Wye Farmer's Market is a must. Other nearby attractions include Leeds Castle, Lympne Wildlife Park and National Trust properties at Scotney and Sissinghurst.
Budding historians and shopaholics alike will enjoy a few hours strolling around the ancient city of Canterbury 15 miles north east of Wye. Its' cathedral, castle, Chaucer museum and boutique shops are all well worth a visit.
